Twitter based comments you can embed on almost any site or page seems like a naturally good way to improve the visibility of your content. Every site has share this and bookmark buttons, which is great, but not overly compelling and ignored by the vast majority of your traffic, unless your the stank of linkbait. So I wrote a simple comment plugin for using twitter to post comments and built a quick site for you to download and try said plugin. Along with any instructions etc. you may need to get started. The end result is tweet2comment.tk.

twitter comments embed for any web page

Sites such as FEARnet.com, HuffingtonPost.com, and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head make pretty good use of Twitter's data feeds. FEARnet scrolls Tweets directed to its Twitter address and invites you to join the conversation. The result, anytime you tweet a message to @fearnet it scrolls by on FEARnet.com possible prompting others to do the same, while boosting awareness of FEARnet on Twitter.

Tweet2comment follows a similar logic but rather than having a comments scrolling by it features the last X number of tweets in a comment box context. You set the search string for your site or page, this allows you to include hashtags and your pages URL into the thread of the conversation, improving the likelihood of  interested tweeps finding your thread, and therefore your page, site, and content.

I hope you love this, it brings you lots of traffic, and you use it in good health. Please let me know what you think. -cheers tim

Oh  Twitter trends, a window to a world where currently James Brond, Harry Potter and Michael Jackson fight to be the mind pollution de jour. What could make such an amazing thing better? Pictures. Time for some information visualization work, a little bit of AJAX, and a good excuse to get some JavaScript DOM exercise. …continue reading…

This is an old Google Image Search ‘hack’ I updated to work with Google’s AJAX search API and PHP using cURL and JSON… For creative fun I’ve been working on some content sensitive visual mish-mash, and wanted to post some quick code in hopes others will do something creative with it. Back in the day, …continue reading…
